Rain, Rain, and More Rain!!

Wow, has the rain really been falling or what!!! If you have been following the news, Indiana has had major flooding over the last week or so. The major flooding has been just to my south and east. I feel for all of the people who lost everything. The water came up so fast that most of the evacuated people only left with the clothes on their back. Please keep all of them in your prayers.

My garden is doing pretty good despite all of the rain. The onions are growing really well. I am still harvesting the spring planted lettuce. I have more lettuce seedlings to plant, but I am waiting for my soil to dry out a bit. I harvested my first head of broccoli yesterday, with more to come. The cabbage worms have started to become a problem, so I started spraying with bt for control. I will be harvesting the last of my green onions today. In between all of the heavy rain storms, the weather has warmed up, so my tomatoes, peppers, cucumbers, and beans have really started to grow. The potatoes continue to grow well in the potato bag and the plants seem close to flowering now.
